Welcome back to another year of SSA awesomeness here at the University of British Columbia!!

The first month of school was a big success, with lots of students visiting the SSA booth at Clubs’ Days in the SUB and a great turnout at the SSA Icebreaker! We loved seeing all the new faces, and catching up with all the old ones! =D

With the start of the new year, we’ve started up all our awesome activities once again:

• Morning Simrans

are a GO, whether they be inside the SUB or Gage, or even on the beach! The exact location might change, but if you’re on the mailing list, you should be receiving updates through email!

• Weekly Discussions

are on! Come out every Thursday to SUB room 201 from 1 – 2 PM for some fantastic discussions on a wide array of topics in Sikhi!

• Winter Kirtan

is coming up in November! More details coming soon, but make sure to come out, listen to some kirtan and eat some langar! It’s the prefect way to end off midterms, and refresh before finals!

1. CLUBS DAYS
   • September 22th – 24th
   • 10 am to 4 pm
   • Student Union Building- Ballroom (upstairs)

     Come meet some of the new execs and join the SSA of 2010/2011! Membership is $5 and helps pay for all events we put on…. and did I mention there’s usually FREE FOOD involved? Make sure to come out and sign up.. and bring all your friends!

2. ICEBREAKER
   • Tuesday, September 28th
   • Time & Location TBA (in the SUB somewhere! )

     Free food, Fun games, and New Friends! What more could you ask for? Come out to the SSA Icebreaker! This is your chance to mingle with your fellow SSA execs and members! We will have some fun activities for you to learn more about each other and some great food! Come out to the SSA icebreaker and start off the year right! Come hungry and again, bring all your hungry friends!

Halloween’s coming up and there’s a bunch of events for you this week!

• Tomorrow, Tuesday the 27th, SSA will be heading down to PNE Fright Nights – come join us for a freaky good time! Remember to buy your tickets online: https://secure3.ticket-ops.com/Fright_Nights/eDirect.
  We’ll meet at Gage at 6:00 PM; if you want to meet us at the PNE we should be there around 7:00 PM.
  
• This week’s morning simran has been moved to Thursday morning at 7:00 AM in SUB 211, join us for an excellent start to your day! =)
  
• Discussion will be Thursday from 12:30-2:00 PM in SUB 205, and in honour of Halloween, the topic will be death- come armed with your thoughts and ideas!
